Lucy is very old, about 16. My husband's had her since she was born, one of a litter that his dog at the time had. Tonight she is almost completely unresponsive, just lying on the floor on a little pallet we made for her when we realized something was wrong. Her breathing is getting slower, shallower and more erratic. I don't think she has much longer, no more than a couple of hours.
