It depends on the man. When me and my GF get in a heated argument sometimes I would like sometime to rationalize with my thoughts rather then say something I don't mean. 
She usually never gives me this time because she would prefer we just have it out but in my case I'd say no it doesn't mean they will leave you but it depends on there mindset when leaving for space.

I think it depends. Is he leaving for a long time and not telling you where he is going or is he going into a different room to cool down? Need more details in order to vote properly so I voted "possibly".
