what age did you start a bedtime?

Our daughter is 3 weeks today. Most nights she's doing a 3-4 hour stretch, then waking up for a feeding that lasts anywhere from 30 min - 2 hours, and then goes back to sleep for another 3-4 hours. She's not going to bed until 11 or so though. I'm not sure when to start putting her to bed earlier. Every site I read gives a different age!

A routine is more important than a schedule, especially at that age.

I started giving my daughter a bath every night at 6 weeks then bottle then bed.  She is now 4 months and goes to bed super easy and sleeps 7:30-7 with an occasional feed at 4 am.  If I could only get a nap schedule going it would be perfect

He sort of just started going to sleep at 8 and sleeps for 4 hours at a time.

I literally had no routine at all until he was 3 months old and now he is in his own routine. If your on maternity leave then it's ok but I understand if your going back to work in the next couple of months you would want them in a routine

We started working on a bed time around 2 months. He's 13 months now and we moved his bed time from 6:45 to 7:30 about 2 months ago. He's a great sleeper

With my first we never really had a bedtime since my husband was a manager at a restraunt and worked crazy hours but when my second came along my oldest was in school and my husband now works first so we always lay down around 7, the first few weeks I was pretty much on his schedule but after a few weeks he got himself into a routine and now at 1 once 7pm rolls around he gives everyone kisses grabs my hand and walks in the bedroom for me to lay him down in his crib and tells me night night.
