break up?

Has anyone broken up with their partner and then got back together and the relationship has improved. 
My boyfriend and I sort of broke up yesterday because we'd been fighting a bit and both really stressed, but we talked for 2 hours last night and both decided that we want to give our relationship a chance and try and fix the problems we have. I'm just wondering if anyone has gotten back with a partner and if the relationship improved or it was a mistake?

In my current relationship, at 2.5 years we broke up for 4 months then got back together. Now at 4.5 years we're engaged to be married next October, been engaged for 1 year already. While it sucked that we lost some time together, it made us realize we really do need each other to be happy and enjoy life, we both agree it improved our relationship. I've experienced what life is like with and without him and to me that's something that makes me appreciate him more.

It really depends... you both have to have communication, and the willingness to be patient, listen, and be open minded. You both have to love unconditionally. With my ex, it worked when we separated and were able to talk about what we want and how to attempt to handle situations.** we broke up so to other things**  Both have to be willing to change For yourselves to be a better partner for the other. My bf and I broke up and a few weeks later after having several talks, and decided to get back together. We care for each other a lot. It's been 3 months since we've gotten back together and well, I can tell u in my experience it takes time, but it never truly, really feels the same, emotionally. At least not for me. We had very different view points on things. I was afraid of losing him and well, then it happened and the fact that it happened once was enough to hurt me. He can back to plead for me to take him back and he said he loved me and it wasn't the same without me, and he thought of me everyday we were apart... We have been working on things and have gotten to a good, or an "okay" point with each other. If you are both willing to put in the work to progress the relationship, then I say it'd be worth it. I would say us getting back together was not a mistake. I would say "trying" is better than not trying and regretting things later. At least that's how I see it. If the love is there for u both and you both have the will to put in the effort with each other to work on things, I would say go for it girl.
