Cow milk intolerance?

How did you come to find out you couldn't eat/drink any dairy while nursing? I have a hunch my baby is not liking my dairy intake and I'll ask her doc about it at her appointment Tuesday, but just figured I'd ask on here too.

She had silent reflux and some eczema. Had had some kifer and nursed her. She was sitting in her swing and I could see her swallowing the acid. I never took another bite for months. She was really sensitive, i couldn't so much as have a bite of anything with casein in it. 
Some babies are more forgiving and mom can have hidden dairy and as long as it's not straight cows milk it doesn't bother them.
I also had to cut soy out.

He had really bad gas and would scream in pain. He also broke out in hives. Wasn't a huge deal, I just cut all dairy out again and he was better.
