What do you do with your babies?

Question

My daughter is one year old and I'm wondering what other moms do during the day with their Littles ones. I'm a stay at home mom so while I do chores my little one just runs around but she's at that age where we should start learning and eating a lot more during the day.. just wondering what I should be doing with her now..lol first time mom as you can tell.

We usually get up about 630 and he runs around and plays while I get my daughter around for school, when we get back from taking her to school we have breakfast and then he lays down for his morning nap, I usually get all my house work done while he naps so when he wakes up we can have lunch and run around the house and play. Ok Tuesday's and Thursday's we meet up with friends and walk. School is out in just a few weeks so we'll probably change our schedule up a bit since we will spend our summer at the zoo, splash pads and camping.

On a Monday we go to a music group and a Thursday we go to play group. But yes I also see my Lo needs abit more to do.....

Being a stay at home mom is such a strange thing. I feel like I'm flat out all day but when my husband gets home and asks what we did I don't really have an answer!

I have recently read that it's actually important to just let them play without interveining. So we have some structured play through the week (swimming and a music/sensory class), I pop her in the pram for a walk each day, I read to hear as well. But other than that just let her play and explore.

I have a hard time finding a balance between providing my LO with beneficial experiences and getting house work done. We go for walks daily, even if it's just to the grocery store. We go to the zoo or science centre (it has a big indoor playground and massive water table) at least once a week and we frequent our local library for baby classes (singing, reading, play dates, etc.). We also go swimming every other weekend. The rest of the time I just try to make whatever I'm doing fun. She has her own cupboard in the kitchen and a drawer in the bathroom full of things she can play with.

Whilst I'm going back to work I'm having 15 months maternity off. Like the others we have some structured play groups ie baby sensory and rhythm time. We also have a swimming lesson every Friday. We walk each day, meet friends (we are very close with our neighbour and their 2 little girls (2&4). My son adores them! The rest of the time I leave him to just explore and play. On gorgeous weather we spent a lot of time in the garden and I do my chorseswhen he is napping too xx
