Are we seriously running out of birth control options ???

Recently I've been seeing a commercial about lawsuits against skyla and mirena as well as other birth controls. This really scares me and I feel as though our options are becoming little to none at this point. I've been on the shot and it ruined my body. I was thinking of getting on the iud for a while then I see this 🤦‍♀️😓 guess the patch is the safest option ? Any experiences ?

Noooo the patch is 60% more estrogen than other birth control methods. It's known to cause blood clots because of the elevated level of hormones. There were HUGE lawsuits about it in the early 2000's.

Personally, I did not respond well to it and got massive anxiety and depression from it - I kept crying for no reason and would have random, intrusive suicidal thoughts that were extraordinarily disruptive to my daily life. It was literally like someone was beaming horrible thoughts into my brain, I hated it. I thought I was going insane. All of it went away the instant I got off the patch.

I have Paragard now, which is nonhormonal.
