My baby is 3 weeks old and I'm having problems breastfeeding so I decided to switch to just formula for now and maybe I'll also pump. How much do I pump and give him and how much formula every how often do I give him. I wanna know just for today so tomorrow I'll ask his Dr how much But I need to know how much to feed him right now

My baby is 3 weeks tomorrow and he can breast feed for 40 mins or longer and still be hungry and will sometimes take 2 oz only and a lot of time will take 4 oz of formula. I feed when he shows hunger signs which is usually about 2 to 3 hours sometimes 4.  You'll get to know your baby and when he needs to eat and how much.

Start with 2oz when he's showing signs of hunger and if he wants more, mix more. I write everything down so I know how much she's getting. I'm pumping and supplementing with a bottle of formula. My baby was taking 3-4oz bottles at 3 weeks when I switched to pumping, but I started off small to gauge how much she wanted/needed. It often depends on how often your baby eats -- small, frequent meals or larger, less frequent. Trial and error.

Baby should eat every 2-3 hours. If you want to breastfeed/exclusively pump you need to be pumping every 2 hours as well. Give him what you pump and top off with formula if baby is still acting hungry. I would say about 2oz of breast milk at 3 weeks but that's just a guess as I didn't start pumping and bottle feeding until I went to work at 3 months and baby was only taking 4oz
