please respond!

My husband and I were ttc for 2 years for baby 2. Finally I tried home insemination with syringe  and we got pregnant. I'm currently 6 weeks pregnant. I have doctors appointment this week. My question is,  does this increase chance of birth defects? I'm stressed all the time thinking about this. Please please please help if anyone has any know about it.
