is it safe to dye your hair in pregnancy? 🤔

Hi ladies,

My Obgyn suggested to not dye my hair as she isn't sure which chemicals are the bad ones in pregnancy etc.

I was in my Heath shop today and the chick said this one would be safe. What do you girls think?? 🤔

This is my rainbow baby so if there is even a chance it may be unsafe I'd rather roll around with feral hair till November 😊 🌈

I think the key here is that *your* Obgyn who knows your pregnancy and your body recommended against it. That should be all of the advice you need. We're all internet strangers with our own opinions and experiences, which might not be right for you and your pregnancy.

Dyed my hair and few weeks ago and I used this dye I got at Sally's beauty store. ..I can't remember the name but it didn't hurt me or the baby is had an appointment two day after that and baby was just fine

My doctor said it's fine after the 1st trimester. Just make sure you dye your hair in a well ventilated area. I've dyed mine a couple times and my little man is perfectly healthy

Done my hair two times in my first trimester . I was 5-6 weeks first time. I'm now 24 weeks, baby is perfectly fine. 🤷🏼‍♀️

My OB told me it was fine after first trimester and to stay away from anything with ammonia

My midwife just said wait until after the first trimester. Also, hairstylists get pregnant and still work their shifts around all of the stuff- you're fine!
