Did it happen to anyone else or is the timing just a coincidence?

Hormone changes can cause depression and/or anxiety. Everyone just accepts that pregnant women are hormonal and emotional but fertility treatments give you much faster hormone changes than pregnancy. Not to mention that going through fertility treatments is depressing and stressful to begin with.

The very first time I took injectible medications I fell into a terrible depression (including ovidrel). My clinic pretty much told me it wasn't the meds at all, & that I was unstable to begin with. Referred me to their social worker who kept calling me and doing a risk assessment. Not helpful at all!

In talking to other women suffering from infertility, hormonal depression is real! We are pumping crazy amounts of hormones into our bodies, why would it not have an effect on our emotional states?

As a side note, it seems to be a known thing in the bodybuilding community. When I was taking chlomid I was google hopping trying to find out why I was having near anxiety attscks on it. Turns out male body builders take it for something or other, and there are support forums dedicated to their rants about literally crying if they run out of maple syrup. It sounds funny, but I've been there..... my hubs called them the Gonal f crazies.

I swear I felt like calling my clinic and telling them off. It really is a man's world!!
