I think they can sense it. Since I've been pregnant my Labrador has been a lot more affectionate towards me. My Doberman doesn't really seem to care. Maybe more animals can sense it than others? Not really sure but I do like the idea of my dogs bonding with the baby before he comes.

My dog started following me to every room and standing guard at the door. One night I was having a rough time with Braxton hicks and she actually laid down in front of me and wouldn't leave my side.

My dog has no idea lol.. he used to run up in my bed and try to walk all over me 😂😂 he's learned now I always push him off when we gets too close... I think he can smell the hormonal change but doesn't necessarily associate it with me having a baby

Yes my moms dogs who have known me for 8 years now one of them has come so protective & the other one absolutely hates me like wants to eat me 🤷🏻‍♀️ lol they both were just sweet dogs to me before pregnancy
