when is A period considered heavy??

I've been bleeding pretty heavily but today I bled through 2 pairs of underwear... yes I was wearing a pad... I bleed through a pad every 2 hours sometimes 3 hours. Is that bad? I have Paraguard IUD and I'm on blood thinners.

I had the Paraguard taken out for that reason. My periods were insanely heavy, I would use a tampon and overnight pad (during the day). Some times it so heavy I had to use the pads that were meant for adult leaking which were the same ones I used for post partum bleeding.

That's considered really heavy and they say if I'm two he's you bleed through a pad go get medical attention you could be loosing too much blood

More than one pad an hour is the rule of thumb problem but if this is abnormal for you I would call obgyn and see what they want you to do.

I would bleed through a pad and a tampon in 3 hours. I got my Paragard inserted in January. My periods have been so much heavier but I switched to the U by Kotex tampons and only bleed through them on my heaviest day (second day). I'm getting back on the pill in addition to the IUD to help manage my period.
