thoughts on bumpers?

Now that LO can roll and squirm and what have you, we've been waking up MULTIPLE times at night because she's either rolled into the crib slats or turned around and her head is pushed against them ... I know bumpers are a no go when they're little but at this age is it ok? We have the mesh ones in but it doesn't give any padding to the head bumps and she's strong enough she can move then if she kicks hard enough!

Honestly, I used them from the very beginning. It is not in any way common for a baby to get hurt from bumpers that are used properly. I always pushed the bumpers so the bottom half was wedged between the crib and the mattress and I always tied them extremely tight. Never, ever, ever had a problem. My son loves to push his head into the corner of his crib and when he was younger he'd put his feet up against the crib and spin himself around. I'm glad we used them because I don't want his little feet or arms getting caught between the boards. Put them on, just push them down between the mattress and crib so it won't come up and fight them extremely tight so your child can't loosen it up by tugging on it.

My son has had them from abfew months old. He kept rolling into the sides and waking every hour or two hours. We took them out and put ones that go around the slats bad idea.his sleep went to shit..
.. Well he got used to the pictures of the bears on the crib bumoers. And couldn't sleep without them. 
So up the regular bumpers went again lol

Breathable bumpers!!! They are awesome! My lo loves to roll and put her face against them and sleep but she can breath normal.

I'm in the same boat, but my son pushes up so high sometimes he falls down and hits his head coming down. I am terrified to use bumpers, but don't know what else to do. I am waiting till his 9 month check up and discussing it with our pediatrician. My son moves backwards like a champ but not fully mobile in all directions (lacking forward mobility mostly).

I was in your shoes too when my LO first got really mobile in his crib. But after a couple of weeks they learn and it's not a problem anymore. No need for even the mesh bumpers. Just wait it out :)

I put bumpers on my sons crib because he turns around and manages to wedge himself sideways and presses up against the slats. I've had them on ever since he's been in the crib and he's fine.

I feel like once they're moving around everywhere they have the ability to roll away from the bumpers if they roll against them & I'd be fine.
