Does BC help get your period in check ??

And which one is the best recommended? NOT INTO IUDS. My periods are wacky and last from 2-3 weeks , THATS ALMOST AN ENTIRE MONTH! I had anemia but I fixed that, it's much better so now I know this is because of my hormones. Please help 😩 I'm really starting to hate my body a lot now, me and my boyfriend barely have sex due to this shit , I'm dying here!

Birth control pills got my period in check but messed with my emotional stability way too much for me to continue being on them. All the added hormones really fucked me. Not to mention they were adding to weight gain. I'm looking into getting the Liletta which is a newer IUD that last for 3 years. It is hormonal- but its all localized and my Doctor told me it wouldn't affect my moods like the pills previously did.

Look every birthcontrols has side affects, whether or not you'll get some or all of them we don't know, some people get no side affects. Since you wanna regulate how long your period it seems like you should take something that allows you to have 1 normal period week. These include the ring, the patch, and the pill. Everything else your period is a bit iffy. I've heard (and read) about the shot, the implant, and IUD making periods longer or almost nonexistent. Read up about the ones I said and see which one you think would work better/is more convenient for you. I would highly recommend avoiding the depo shot. It has so many side effects. As far as I'm aware it took me almost 2 years to start ovulating again and I only used it for a year. Also both my cousin and I had weight gain from it as well. I've also known quite a few people who have had major problems with the nexplanon implant. I know it's not helpful but your doctor would be able to make a better suggestion with knowing your medical history and everything.

When I was a teenager my period would last a whole month then I wouldn't get it for three months 🙄 so I feel you. Basically on the pill you don't have a real period - it just stimulates bleeding idk it's complicated but it does stop you from bleeding all month!! The pill does have side effects though so please consider if that's worth it for you, it was for me
