new gender blood test!?

So this will be our 3rd baby and waiting till I'm 5 months to find out the gender makes me crazy and anxious lol so I heard there's a new blood test that can tell u as early as 7 weeks what the gender of ur baby is! So has anyone tried this? Was it accurate? How would I go about getting it done? Is it expensive and even worth it?

Panorama is what it is called. I am a phlebotomist at an OB/GYN office and I draw this at the first visit at 10 weeks.

The NIPT/NIPS (noninvasive prenatal test/screen) is a blood draw taken around 10 weeks that screens for chromosomal problems as well as gender. It was covered for me and I think given to everyone over 35 in CA. Results came in about a week.

Yes, I did it after 10 weeks for chromosomal testing purposes but gender happens to be in there if you want to know. MaterniT21 was my test.

My midwife also offered me this. 10 weeks is when they typically do it. She told me they haven't had a bill come in for more than $130 and if they get one higher, they help with extra costs and payment plans.

I am going to do it! Warning though, you can also get false positives for disabilities in your babies blood that aren't actually there. That's part of the genetic testing!

There are several companies that do them, and I know lots of women get it done. I think it has more to do with your insurance and your provider. We had it done for our first but I'm not sure if I will be able to get it done this time also as we have changed insurance providers.
