How to produce more milk?

My baby was born 8 days ago. My milk came 4 days ago but I can't get more than 10ml every time I pump. She's still hungry after she eats, so I have to use formula. 
How long does it take to have more milk?
What can I do to increase production?

How much you pump is not a measure of supply because baby can pull milk more effectively than a pump. If your baby still wants to nurse after offering both breasts put her back on the first breast again. And than the second. And than the first. Keep doing it until she stops sucking. She's building your supply right now so she will want to nurse constantly. It's normal. Exhausting but normal.
Get comfy on the couch with Netflix snacks and a water bottle. She will want to nurse constantly for the first couple of months.
And remember if you choose to give something more a syringe or dropper should be used and not a bottle.

I have been breastfeeding my daughter for three years and not once have I gotten anything from pumping. Spit into a cup right now, that's what I'd get. Pumping output has nothing to do with your supply.

Have you tried getting her to latch? Babies are best at pulling milk from the breast and regulating supply

I was told not to pump until about a month of breast feeding. I guess it can confuse your body, your body knows how much to make for your baby based on how much they remove from your breast. Waiting worked great for me, now I pump (8 weeks) and have a decent stash and am also able to breast feed on demand through all her little growth spurts:)
