Crumbling teeth?!

Is this a pregnancy thing, has anyone else experienced it? I was eating something today and part of my back molar chipped off! I have never had something like this happen, does this mean I'm not getting enough calcium and my baby leeched enough from my teeth to make them weak?

Im no dentist but I'm going to go out on a limb from experience. This may have nothing to do with your pregnancy. I had this happen once years ago and it was just basically a fault line in my tooth and one day the pressure was too much and it cracked. Of course, it could also be that you've got some decay. Usually the problem during pregnancies with your gums. You definitely should see a dentist but make sure to tell them you're pregnant as some dentists won't see you in the first or third trimester.

My first pregnancy the same thing happened to me!!! I was an ice chewer though and I don't take any calcium supplements to offset what the baby is taking.

Yes!!! It sucks.. I chipped my front tooth somehow, (thankfully it's not visible) but I can feel it!! And also one of my molars. I'm so terrified they're going to continue breaking.

Could be pregnancy related. Could also be a number of other things. If you have an old silver filling in that tooth or an old white filling, that could've caused it to break off. Or there was a hairline fracture and you bit down on that sweet spot and it broke. I'm a dental assistant and see people with great healthy teeth and they come in with a broken tooth out of nowhere. We put our teeth through the ringer.

I had 6 caveties while I was pregnant. Never had one before so that was so unusual for me I have to imagine it's pregnancy related

I have really good teeth (or so I thought). After my son, I was found to have 13 cavities!!! 13!!! I've never had one in my life! They say the calcium is just sucked from your system during pregnancy.

This is exactly what my OB told me would happen if I didn't get enough calcium. Baby would take it from me and my teeth would suffer. I'd try a calcium supplement either once or twice a day depending on the supplement and that should help protect the rest of your teeth :)
