dopplers? good or bad idea?

I really want to get a fetal Doppler, but I'm afraid that if I can't hear the heart beat on my own one time I'll freak out. I'm a nurse practitioner so I'm pretty medically savvy but still worry. Did any of you get dopplers, what brand, and what week could you first find the heartbeat?

I ordered mine from Amazon last week and received it today. I'm 11wk1dy and it took me 10 min to find my babies heartbeat. Music to my ears! 💜💜💜😍😍🤗 I don't regret buying it.

I've had one with all my pregnancies..Just don't try it out too early, with my first two kids I waited until the midwife found it in her office and then did it myself, with our last pregnancy I tried before going in to see my midwife, the next day I started to miscarry (the baby had already died weeks prior) but I got a really bad feeling while I was looking for the heartbeat. I'm now almost 9 weeks, we've seen the heart on the US but still going to wait till the midwife finds it with her doppler next time we go in.

Hi! After I had a miscarriage in December I was so happy that I decided to get a Doppler! We miscarried at 7 weeks so it was too early to have one and we never herd the heartbeat so this has been a blessing! I use it quite often to put my worries at ease. I heard the heartbeat for the first time at 9 weeks or so and it was seriously the best! I bought the sonoline B fetal monitor and I LOVE it. Best 45 bucks I've ever spent! There were a couple times i had a hard time finding the heartbeat but you just have to remember that early on it's going to be! It took me and my SIL about 20-25 minutes the first time! Highly recommend and that's coming from a HUGE worry wart 🙃

I got one at 7 weeks but didn't try to use it until 8 weeks & 2 days. It took me until today to find it and now I'm 8 weeks & 5 days! So happy my friend gave me hers because she just had a baby 2 weeks ago and got her tubs tied. Plus I was told at 6 weeks that I have a subchorionic hemorrhage between my placenta and the lining of my uterus so I love hearing the heartbeat knowing everything's alright!
