Is it ok for a mom to go out every weekend?

Is it ok for a mom to go out every weekend and leave their kids with their grandparents?? Even though she's a single mom.

If she has an adequate baby sitter (grandparents, childrens father etc) then she can do whatever she likes. As long as her children are happy and being well cared for whilst shes out i dont see a problem with her letting her hair down. That said i'd rather be at home with my kids but each to their own :)

I don't even have a kid and I don't feel the need to go out every weekend. Especially if the child is very young, I see 2 possibilities here. Either the mother is too young and immature to be a mother and should have waited before having kids, or the mother is suffering from postpartum depression and can't deal with the day to day life of being a mother because of that and the going out is her escape. Either way it's not healthy. 
Then again, I don't think going out partying every weekend is healthy even without a baby but that is some people's lifestyle. 
Going out now and then is fine and healthy. Taking time for yourself now and then is fine and healthy. But if you feel the need to constantly escape being a mother, or you feel unwilling to let go of your old life even a little, then there's a problem

The whole weekend? No. Coffee or a quick meal or something one weekend day/night - Sure.

Usually if a parent is going out it's after a kid is in bed... I'd say as long as her kid aren't being neglected then it's fine... you do what you want with your time and let her do the same

If she has a sitter yes. Especially since she is a single mom that has got to be a hard life. My husband l and I have gone out once a week for dates before. It hasn't happened that much since we had our 3rd, now it's every other week. Now if she went out all night and into the next day no that would not be ok to do every week. But once a week for a few hours absolutely.

If the mother is working and fully involved in the lives of the children it is unreasonable to think she doesn't need time to herself.

My two year old used to go with grandparents every weekend but he's had some food allergies and other health issues plus family drama. Now he stays home a lot
