membrane sweeping?

Hi ladies, I'm 37+5 today and just had my weekly appointment with my doctor. Scheduled next visit for Tuesday at which time she wants to do another ultrasound to check on baby's size, placenta, etc. She also mentioned she could do a membrane sweep if I want as well to try and start labor. Any of y'all have experience with this??  Im 39 years old so that could be a factor in why she offered the option. Just curious to get any feedback you mommies might have.
