Baby won't sleep in bassinet..HELP

My baby boy is almost 4 weeks old and really will not sleep in his bassinet. We have had luck one night for a few hours but otherwise he screams bloody murder! I have tried swaddling him (he HATES his arms being constricted), passifier, my shirt wrapped around the mattress so he can smell me, etc. I think he hates being on his back? I will literally put him down when he is in a deep sleep and he wakes up the moment he hits that bassinet! 

I am terrified of SIDS, as we all are, so I really want to stop him sleeping on my chest ASAP! If anyone has any advice or tips I would love to hear it!
