period during pregnancy?

So I'm 7 weeks tomorrow, Have any of you heard of women getting their period while pregnant? My doctor said it's very rare, but it's happening to me. My levels are fine, baby's heartbeat is great, but I got my period. It scares me, but I mean if my doctor is saying everything is fine I guess it's okay. Have any of you experienced this?

I've personally never experienced it or known anybody who has, as far as I know. The lady who did my first ultrasound this time told me about a friend of hers who didn't know she was pregnant until about 5 months because she was having a period the whole time. So, I know it CAN happen but, like you said, it's very rare.
