Medela vs. Ameda vs. Spectra ???

Question

Anyone with breast pump experience care to weigh in???  Finally found out what pumps are covered by my insurance. Just started looking at reviews as I know NOTHING about these things lol. Anyone have any experience with any of these 3?  These are the ones covered I can get.

I just got my spectra and absolutely love it! I had a friend who has a Medela come over to help me set up and use the spectra and even she said the spectra was so much better than her medela! I'm glad I made the choice! It's so quiet and easy to use and has a timer on it that shows how long you've been pumping for, plus a night light on it for late night pumps.

Spectra is the best way to go. I have medela too and wouldnt ever recommend them simply for sanitation reasons. They have an open system which means milk and such can get back into the motor and you can't get it out. I've watched it happen with mine when there was a little water in the tubes still from washing it. It's gross.

I have no opinions yet, but I have to say I thought you were suggesting these as baby names, and I didn't want to have to be the one to tell you they were all breast pumps 😂😂😂

I have the spectra  and I'm in love with it. Quiet,  great suction. It's a double pump so you can do both breast at the same time. I also have the kiinde  twist system so I can pump directly into little pouches for storage for when I go back to work!

My insurance gave me the Ameda for free and I got the Medela from a friend who never used hers. Both are great but I think I like the Ameda better! It seems to get more milk out without hurting my nipples at all. I do recommend buying a pumping bra online or from a maternity store. It's a total game changer to be able to pump hands free!!

I have the pump in style tote. It's convenient for taking it to work. However if I ever have another baby I'll get a spectra. I've heard nothing but good things about it. I hate my PISA because water/milk always seemed to get in my tubes. And to me it's kind of loud.

I have an Ameda pump and it's a piece of shit compared to the Medela.

Ameda is bare bones, Spectra is the bomb! Insurance gave me Ameda, I paid for Spectra-worth every penny!

I had the Ameda and the Medela. Honestly I have pretty sensitive nipples and the Ameda helped with that way more. I don't need an overly strong suction to getmilk out and medela was too strong and made my let down less because it was damaging to my nips. Medela is easier to clean and they have easier to find parts, though. You can't find any Ameda replacement parts in store only online which was irritating.
