Help starting labor??

Is there anything I can do to help start labor?? I am 37 weeks and baby is measuring at 39 weeks. I'm so done being pregnant. I know this is a long shot but I'm just wondering if anything worked for anyone else.

I've literally tried everything from bouncing on the ball for hours at a time I've tried the evening primerose oil, sex, walking, spicy food, squats, nipple simulation,  with this pregnancy my third nothing has worked ive had contractions but always get sent home.. but every pregnancy is different with my first and second those things worked fairly quick. My OB told me that nothing will work unless your body is ready.. next I will be asking for a membrane sweep.. good luck and congratulations

I have sex every day with my husband right now and it doesn't cause contractions like the walking I've been doing. So I'm going to suggest walking.

How come no one talks about sex ? Most women went to labour 24 hours after sex as semen softens the cervix. Hens why they say eat pineapple , cause it has the same proteins , but you'll have to eat a tone to make it effective. That's the first thing I'm trying as soon as I'm 39 weeks . Good luck

I asked my doctor the same thing... he said no... but he said I can try sex becuz the semen will help me... other than that he said he'd see me in a week & well induce on the 5th or 6th instead of me going on the 10th...

A couple family members who had babies recently swear by the exercise ball. Bounce up and down on it while watching a movie or tv show that just may get things started.

Lots of walking and doing squats can help prepare your pelvis and help open it up to help prepare you for birth. Also if you have a birthing ball or exercise ball, you can try sitting on that and rocking back and forth which can also help.

People have lots of theories but honestly I think baby just comes when he/she is ready. 38 weeks and I've been thinking about trying the labour smoothie (dates & pineapple).  Midwife says I can do nipple stimulation but I should wait until 40 weeks. Try Pinterest though, they have a lot of articles.
