prenatal vitamins ?

Does anyone else not take prenatal vitamins ? With my last pregnancy I took them before I got pregnant and every day after my positive pregnancy test . I miscarried at 6 and a half weeks and idk they just scare me in a way . I haven't taken but maybe 3 this pregnancy and I'm now 13 weeks . Anyone else ?

Prenatals are vitamins and they don't make you bleed or spot. They are vitamin that are crucial to your baby's development and obviously it's your choice wether or not you take them, but I will never miss a day. I want a healthy and fully developed little one.

Please please please take supplements!! Our diets don't give babe all that is needed. If a prenatal doesn't work for you, talk with your medical provider and find something that does. Babe's brain needs more than our food can give it!!!

I would suggest trying something whole food based so you don't have to worry about anything synthetic affecting your baby. I personally like New Chapter and Garden of Life, but there are others out there too.

With my last pregnancy I didn't take them. I wasn't able to swallow pills for some reason and couldn't stomach the taste of flint stone vitamins. This was in 2008. Just make sure you're getting in a healthy well balanced diet.

You don't need to take a full prenatal...folic acid and vitamin d alone are fine and all that midwives here really recommend. 🙂 Personally I use the terranova prenatals. I like them.

I took Rainbow Light ones with my first two, had spotting the entire time. This time around, I switched to Nature Made ones, but haven't had any spotting like I did with my first two.

I can't say for sure it was the prenatals, but switching hasn't hurt anything since I'll be 14w tomorrow.
