First period after miscarriage?

I miscarried at almost 9 weeks about 6 weeks ago. Got my first period and it is EXTREMELY heavy. Heavier than the actual miscarriage bleeding was. No cramps. Is this excess bleeding normal?? I knew it would be heavy but I'm soaking 2-3 pads in an hour and even super tampons last 20 min. (Sorry for tmi)

It could be that your lining is still really thick from your miscarriage. If you go through 4 super tampons every hour for more than 4 hours that is considered excessive

If you are bleeding heavier than during your MC I would probably be concerned. I MC at around 10 weeks and knew that is was going to happen because the pregnancy wasn't developing, so the doctor told me what to expect. During the MC they told me if I was bleeding through more than 2 pads an hour I should go in to an ER, so since you are not MC and this is a period I would be a little concerned. Maybe call an advice nurse? Are you physically feeling ok?

Call your doc and make sure that's not good we're not suppose to lose that much blood
