false labour?

How can you tell the difference between real and false labour? I woke up at 5 this morning with really intense pains in my back that come and went every 5 minutes or so then they moved into my lower abdomen aswell as my back but the last few hours they've got less regular, I'm still getting them but not as often.. Could it just be a slow start to labour? I was so ready thinking baby was coming 😩

I had this for a week and a half before I went into real labor. They will get more consistent and stronger when you go into true labor. When I actually went into true labor I went in that morning got checked was only a one so I napped did lunges walk the stairs danced around went on a walk at the dog park and later that night they got extremely strong so I went and got checked and I was at 7.

This is me today. Woke up at 2am and was experiencing contractions only on the left side of my back and belly however my whole stomach was contracting. That went on from 2a-7a, then I was finally able to sleep (sitting up) for 30 minute intervals from 7a-1030a. They subsided for a few hours and now their back at it. It's 330p here. I can't tell if this is the real deal or not. I have 2-3 contractions an hour with a dull agonizing pain in between contractions.

Yeah most likely false 😞. I was told they should be consistently getting stronger and closer together, and if they start wearing down it's just Braxton Hicks. Hopefully they start getting more frequent and strong for you!

Been having this since 6 am yesterday. I'm calling my midwife as soon as they open. My body is so tired 😔
