Implantation Bleeding or Early Period?

My period was supposed to arrive on Wednesday, but yesterday (Sunday) I noticed a small amount of brown blood when I wiped. This kept happening each time, and it was either brown or pink. Then it got to a point when it was enough volume to put in a light tampon. Today it's still enough for a light tampon and the color is a deep dark pink. I'm so confused! My period is pretty regular (last time it came a day early though). Whatever this is isn't clotty and not bright red, but if it's enough for tampon is it just an early period? 🤔🤔🤔
