best way to wean?
My daughter is ten months old 😔 but I am so ready to start ending our breastfeeding journey. I want to continue to give her BM until she's a year but after that I would like to stop. Glow recently posted an article saying the best way to switch is to do it cold turkey at a year. And I don't feel like that's best.. Is it?
When I asked someone else about weaning I got shamed for wanting to stop. (Because if I made it this far I should keep going). breastfeeding wasn't this magical thing for me. Personally I hate it. I sucked it up for a year but now I'm ready.
I have over 500oz saved and was wondering if I should start to put a little milk in bottles mixed with BM to get her tummy used to it or is that a no no? She's a comfort nurser when she's super sleepy and I'd also like to slowly try to eliminate that. This is my first baby and nobody else in my family has breastfed. I'm so lost and overhwhelned on how to start this process.
I should also add that I'm a huge oversupplier. I've tried block feeding and its helped a bit but that's another thing I'm worried about for weaning. My stash is from when I worked and that was all extra I pumped during the day. I don't pump outside of work.
