My husbands grandma wants to throw my baby shower (she is very wealthy-like 10k a year HOA) and she is so excited to throw my baby shower. Most of the guest that will be there will be a bunch of people I don't know or met once. Which I'm fine with, because my husband sister wants to throw me another baby shower (there is complications in the family and his sister and mom aren't welcome) I mentioned how I wanted to do a gender reveal at the shower to surprise everyone and she shot my idea down because she is worried that it will affect her guests, because they won't know what to buy the baby. 

I feel like this is not okay. My husband said that he would talk to her. I'm starting to think that I should have my Sister-in-law throw the first shower and have the fun exciting baby shower there.. 

I'm just so stressed and aggravated over this.
