Like is that even okay?

So I was raped a couple months ago. Instead of dwelling on what happened I have chosen to accept it and then in most ways got over it. I have 3 kids. Is it wrong for me to have done that? So far everyone I have talked to thinks it's not. Like in all honesty. Am I supposed to let that hold me back from living my life and raising my kids?

Whatever is best for you to heal is the right way. Honestly I could smack every single person who tries to tell rape victims how to heal, how they should feel, and what they "need" to do. So ignorant.

No. It's not wrong if you at all. Some people are much better at accepting it than others but in all honesty, I think it makes you a really strong person to have been able to move passed it. I'm really sorry you had to go through that, but I'm happy for how you've handled it.

Everyone heals differently. Some people let it destroy them, others push forward. They can't tell you that you're healing wrong, because not everyone heals the same.

You do whatever you feel is right for you there is no right or wrong answer if there is any time that you feel like you need it there are always counselors and therapists available to work with you throgh anything you need

I don't think you should let whoever did that to you get away with it. But it's great that you're living your life and taking care of your kids!

No it's entirely your choice. It happened to you, not anyone else. You have to do what is best for you. People generally say that because a rapist will generally rape again, so they feel you should try and get him convicted. I think that's the ideal option but of course it means going to court, being accused of being a liar, and possibly confronting him again.
