A while back, my friend met this guy and lost her virginity to him and her mother found out about it and basically dragged her to the drs clinic for birth control. When they got there she was told that she was old enough to go in by herself and so she asked her mother to stay in the waiting room. She told me that while she was there they offered her nuva ring, the pill, or depo shot. She told me that she wanted to get the nuva ring bc she hates needles and she will not remember a pill. So they checked her out and shot a long q tip uncomfortably into her vagina to see if she was clear to get it. The doctor gives her 3 months worth of the nuva ring in a brown bag w a bunch of condoms and explains to her to put one in now and basically gives her the run down on how to use it. She becomes excited and runs out to tell her mother everything but her mother is not happy at all. She asks her why didnt she get something else a tad more permanent, like an implant or the shot. She tried to explain that they told her that they didnt do implants at that clinic and she didnt want a needle to stick her. They get into this huge argument in the parking lot at which point her mother says that she will never be able to see her bf again which devastates her to the point to where she walks back inside crying and begging them to give her the depo and to take back the nuva ring. At which point the doctor consoles her, gives her the shot, and lets her go out the back to avoid the large crowd of ppl in the waiting room. So she comes out the back crying to herself at which her mother yells at her some more about wasting her time by going back in and my friend just sits silently the whole ride home which her mother bitches the whole time and keeps making my friend cry.

So my question is, do u think she shouldve done something differently? And if so what would u do differently in that situation? Im only asking bc idk what to tell her. Shes only 17.
