mirena removal

I'm having my mirena removed tomorrow after having it only put in in November last year. I do not like the affects I'm experiencing. The dr. cannot find the strings and so I am quite nervous about tomorrow as it was extremely painful when inserted. Would love to hear your experiences and also what symptoms you had once it was removed. Thank you ladies.
