why I haven't get pregnant yet ?

So I was in birth control I have the Nexplanon on my left arm for almost 3 years I just got taken out on march 29 because my husband and I want to start working on having a baby. I told him if we could wait a month to see If at least I get my period just ones and then after we can start working on baby making so we did wait and since then I haven't been taking care of myself but the thing is that I haven't get pregnant yet or haven't get my period either and i don't know but I'm just scared because my doctor said that I would get my period one month after I had the Nexplanon taken out but nothing had happened and I have done two pregnancies tests and they have come out negative so I'm just worry about how I'm not getting my period or why I'm not getting pregnant either.
