So my friend recently got engaged, she has a weird relationship with the girls she works with, they're somewhat close but they're all bitchy, stuck up and judgmental af so they don't really get along. Anyway, when they found out she got engaged, they said 'about time' but not in a joking way. She was offended by it as their intentions are never in the right place and I felt like it was uncalled for, especially the way they said it.
