Second Week Stress Spotting?!

Hello ladies, so I'm on a monthly pill with I practically take religiously. I missed one day in the first week but doubled up the next day like your supposed too. Now though, I'm having a period during the second week of my pack. I know I'm not pregnant because I just had my normal period. My doctor said it's normal when you've been on the pill for a while. My mom also said it could be stress. I was wondering if you ladies ever had strange Spotting or discharge when you were overtly stressed?
