Best way to trim or shave pubic hair?

So lately my pubic hair has gotten a bit long. Shaving is a pain due to itchiness of stubble but now my pubic hair is making me itch because it's a bit long. Trimming is good but I think I don't do it correctly. No I don't have pubic lice or a yeast infection. I just need advice on the best method.

You can shave with the grain of your hair if you have sensitive skin. If you prefer a more cleaner look, definitely consider coconut oil or olive oil when you shave. Leave the shaving creams alone! 
It helps to exfoliate a little before, add a little soap with the oil. If you have issues with razor burn, dab a little hydrogen peroxide over the redness and use coconut oil as an after shave

Try an epilator eith a trimming head! LIFESAVER! It literally looks like you have bo hair at all but without the itchiness. Also when I am speaking of an epilator I thinking of the trimming head and not the plucking one although it does a great job but can take a long time to finish dur to pain until your skin gets hot.

There's this awesome product called a Bikini trimmer (Venus?) and it has a built in guide so you don't trim too close (like a shave) but it gets rid of the longest hairs which help itchy-ness. It's kinda hard to find one on sale by itself though :/ usually they come in a pack as a "bonus" with other razors. It's not electric, just a normal blue stick.
