I've had a problem with trying to get my s/o to stop drinking excessively. I understand when we go out he wants to have fun, and I allow him to drink. But when his drinking becomes way too much, it makes me mad. First of all, I know that means that I will get no sleep throughout the night because I will be up with the baby while he's snoring away. And secondly, how am I supposed to have MY fun when I know I have to watch after him and make sure we get home safe? It irritates me knowing that I can never have fun myself because I have to be the one with the right mind set. SO, point of the story is, we are at my parents house, me my s/o, and my mother in law eating, having a few drinks, and I complain that my s/o is drinking too much. And you know what she tells me? "Let him drink, he works sooo hard." First of all that gets me mad, because yes I know he works hard, and I also know how he gets when he's drunk. Then she tells me "he deserves to drink and have his fun because he works, you don't have to drink, you have your baby." Are you fucking kidding me?? So basically I'm not allowed to have my fun because I have MY baby? No bullshit. Being a mom is a full time job, and every mom will agree with me. So am I wrong for being upset with my mother in law, or am I being "dramatic"?
