Biochemist here.  Bleach has no visible reaction to pregnancy hormones.  What it is reacting to is the acidity and ammonia in your urine, which changes based on what you ate and drank that day.  It also creates chlorine gas, which is deadly in large amounts. (though the amount you can create with small amounts will just burn your eyes and lungs.)

WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD YOU WANT TO DO THIS!!!!!! The first thing most doctors or anyone really tells a new expectant mom is to STAY AWAY FROM MOST HOUSEHOLD CLEANERS SUCH AS BLEACH !!!!!!!!!! I was extremely naive about pregnancy and when we moved into our house I didn't go when they painted and I made my partner Clorox and bleach everything! And even after that I used a little mask for the bathroom cleaners! Mainly because they made me sick but also because i knew it could be harmful!
