Animals can sense pregnancy??

I've heard that animals can sense when you're pregnant. So far my tests have been negative, but my period was due the begging of this month and has not come. My one year old has always loved me, but lately she is super clingy and lovey. She always wants to snuggle or have attention, even while I use the restroom. Could this be a good sign or am I pulling and strings??
