Who Got Pregnant After Using Depo?

Hey ladies! There's nothing more I want in this world than a little nugget of my own. I was on depo for about six years and stopped because I knew I wanted a baby. I switched to the pill to have more control and a lower dose of birth control and then also stopped that to get my body back in order to have a baby. In September I will have been off of birth control for a year.

It's our third cycle trying, second cycle using opks and charting bbt. This month I nailed down when I ovulated and confirmed with opks. My periods are still sometimes irregular, but would you say I should be in good shape after using the shot for so long since I know I ovulated?

I'm so nervous because I hear horror stories from women who were on depo and it makes me regret it everyday. Does anyone have any insight, advice, tips? It's too late to try anything new this cycle, as I'm 5dpo today, but if it doesn't stick this cycle I'm open to try new things next cycle!

I was on Depo for 5 years and i started having problems with my bones because of it so I stopped taking it. That's when my partner and I started taking about what if situations and agreed we wanted a baby. Just 5 months after I stopped taking Depo I got pregnant with my son. He is such a blessing. I'm 9w5d today and was on depo for just over two years. Granted it took 9 months to get pregnant after but my doctor says everything is looking good.

I was recently on depo and got off of it in march since then my period has been wayyyyy out of wack and I had regular periods before now it's just acting crazy

We used preseed and OPKs. We were told by the doctor to baby dance every other day until we got a positive OPK, then baby dance that day and every other day for the next 5 days. It worked!

I was on depo for only a year, then switched to birth control pills for a year. Before depo, I was on the pill for 7 years. It took me 4 months to have a normal period. A year after my first normal period we got pregnancy but it was a chemical pregnancy. Then four months after the chemical we had a viable pregnancy. Now we are 35 weeks with a baby boy!
It happens, but it takes a while for depo to get out of your system. I believe the research says 8 to 20 months is the normal range of time it takes to get pregnant after being on the depo shot.

It took me over three years to even have kind of regular ish cycles after depo and get pregnant. So, it can happen! But it can also take a while 😔 but it really is different for every woman. I know women who have gotten pregnant their first cycle after depo.
