water birth or not?

Really like the sound of a water birth, what's everyone's opinion on it? x

I had a water birth with my 2nd child and it was a great experience. I got out 10 minutes after giving birth to deliver the placenta so there was no mess at all. The main difference is your contractions don't feel as strong as the would outside of the water. Also you don't get the stinging sensation as the head comes out in the water.

I've had two water births and planning my third. The water definitely gives a feeling of comfort and safety.

When I first found out I was pregnant I really wanted a water birth, but after going through labor I wouldn't even consider it if I had another baby and just seems like a bad idea...especially since my labor was nothing of what I expected and can be so unpredictable in general for anyone

I tried with my son. But every time i got in the water my contractions stopped lol.

They sound nice but I personally wouldn't want to sit in the mess. But that's just me. I hear great things about them so I say go for it!

If I could have, I definitely would have. For my first time though. Not the second. I didn't plan on the epidural or anything. My hospitals don't have birthing tubs. They were crazy expensive online & I was not going to rent one. Besides, they were several complications with my labor and it scared me so I wouldn't do it now. But a beautiful amazing thing. If you can do it, I strongly suggest you do it!

I wanted one until my friend told me she pooped in the water (it was messy) and had to sit in it (after baby was born) while they delivered her placenta. :/
