So if your dilated to a 1cm, why hasn't your water broke & why haven't you lost your mucus plug & why are you contracting? I've never experienced my water breaking so these questions I can't find anywhere & doc doesn't seem to answer any of you with experience & know the answer please lmk asap 🤔🤔

You can be 1 or 2 cm for weeks. It means nothing and is just giving too much hope. My waters didn't break on their own at all. I was almost 10 cm and they were bulging so they broke them for me at that point. I did have a show, but don't remember seeing a mucus plug as such. Go by contractions, its clearest.

Your water may not break on its own at all. Being dilated doesn't really have all that much to do with it. You can be 6 cm and it may not have broken still. You can have contractions because it's just typical for pregnant women to have contractions late into a pregnancy. All of this is normal. Being 1 cm doesn't mean you're in labor. You can be at 1 or 2 cm for weeks.
