girl talk

I need help! I'm 14 years old and so are my friends. I got my period when I was 13 but none of my friends have it and I'm to scared to tell them. How should I tell them, or should I just keep it a secret? Thanks

I had my first period at 11. I got so embarrassed when a friend grabbed my purse to get a hair tie and saw my pads. She just was like "oh you have that? My sister does but I don't yet. Mom says I'll probably get it soon though" and just handed my purse back.Anyways:Your girl friends? Yeah tell them! They will probably just be like "oh okay"Your guy friends? No. Just no. Guys your age will say mean/rude things or just get grossed out in general. (Guys my age STILL do that and I'm 18 lol)

I was the first to start out of my friends too (I was 9) so I get how your feeling, but honestly your female friends will be fine...not so sure about the guys as I grew up with mostly girls (very small village: there was seven of us in my year until we went to secondary) but when I told my friends I mostly got asked 100 questions about what it was like and if it hurt, that sort of stuff ☺.

A clever way to tell them is one day when your on your period ask anyone if them if they have a pad. Even if you have your own. Then be like it's that time of month. That's all i have for now.

Having your period before your friends is nothing to be ashamed of. Every woman gets it a different times. That being said if I were you I would wait till it seems like a good time or comes up some how. But you could just come out and tell them. Your friends won't be grossed out, well if you have guy friends they might be a little. It may seem hard and embarrassing but in a few years it won't matter at all. 13 is a perfectly normal age to get your period and its normal to want to talk to others about it. It's part of life.
