Traveling around the world with your boyfriend?

Question

I know it's alright to travel around with your boyfriend as long as you can keep your purity. And I'll admit the enemy has tempted into sexual immorality when I'm with my partner.

I was in church this morning and the Pastor's message hit me leaving me in deep thoughts. Should I continue my life of sin and travel with him around the world? Or wait for it until he gets married with me.

We've both talked about it and he says he can control it and that he doesn't want to married just yet if he isn't ready in terms of being able to financial support me as my husband.

I told him that wasn't the issue. I'm thinking he's scared of something else...

Anyway, anyone has any thoughts or comments to share?

Even though this travelling thing may lead you to face physical temptation with your significant other, I think if a couple has the means to travel around the world together (or just domestic, in your country, travel), then they should do it. Travelling together involves close teamwork, commitment, patience - it is a valuable experience for the both of you.

As a Christian trying to follow Jesus, it is important to try your best to do what you can and to brainstorm ideas and solutions to keeping temptation at bay while still enjoying the opportunity to travel with your significant other. If physical temptation is a problem, figure out how you are most tempted and find a solution to neutralizing it. For travelling, this is a lot easier than you might think. If you cannot sleep in the same room or the same bed, opt for a hostel if one is available and stay in separate beds in a dormatoriy style setting. Being in public will remind you of your actions. Try not to be alone too much in secluded spaces - hotel room, hiking trail, etc.

If you do find yourself alone and facing that temptation, try to make a pact to help remind each other of your goals, needs, and weaknesses (which should be discussed beforehand) and work in protecting each other. This idea of "protecting" one another has helped me a lot in my own struggles of global travelling with my significant other. It helps gives my tense self a goal to work towards that doesn't involve me focusing on my sexual gratification or even my simple sexual urges. I want to protect my boyfriend and help him be the best he can be, and that includes his spirituality, relationship with God, and his expectations for himself that he has made clear to me. I will do anything to protect my babe - even if that has to involve protecting us from ourselves.

Well, no its never okay to continue in sin. Especially when you are on purpose sinning against God. The Lord said if you love me, you will keep my commandments. So it all boils down to do you love the Lord. If you know you do, then you know the answer to your question. If your boyfriend isn't ready for marriage that's cool. But avoid being in a position where satan can tempt you into sin. The Lord always provides away out, you just have to be willing to take that way.
