Anyone else feeling like this? Or have any advice for a "sad" lady...

Kylie
I've recently undergone a lot of changes whilst being pregnant but the biggest one of all was moving home. Moving away from somewhere I absolutely positively adored. It was my home. Me and my partner moved away into a family mortgaged home, cheaper, and closer to his family, and further away from mine. I never thought I would feel like this but I don't want to cook in this new place, I don't want to meet the neighbours. I feel overwhelmed and totally on edge all of the time. I go out most days and do not come back until 11pm sometimes, like an escape. I feel trapped here and it's taking my positive notions of becoming a mother for the first time. Anyone else feeling like this or have any advice, I just feel lost.....

I think major changes are especially hard to deal with while pregnant, and that definitely makes it harder to give the new thing a chance! I would focus on something small you can do to help you put down a little root - maybe walk a different road in your neighborhood each day, or explore all the nearby parks or libraries, whatever floats your boat. Letting yourself find something to like will help you feel more at home. I would do this before taking on any major projects like making new friends. Find that one little difference that matters to you.  If it continues or gets worse though I'd talk to your doc about prenatal depression, because it can be triggered by major changes or stressors during pregnancy, and pregnancy-safe treatments are available!
