Gender Rant

We're deciding to wait until birth to find out the sex of the baby for several reasons.
1. We don't want people buying crappy gendered gifts for the baby. We want functional gifts that can be used for a baby regardless of sex, not a bunch of crappy pink frilly tutus or the like.
2. We don't want people assigning arbitrary gender roles to a baby. It's a BABY! Not a little princess or hypermasculine manly man!
3. It's weird. Essentially they're asking "what kind of genitals does your baby have so I can treat it accordingly?"
However people keep trying to pressure me into finding out the sex for their convenience (mostly gift buying) and I'm about done dealing with it. I have half a mind to hide the sex of the child until it's a year old out of spite. It's a baby whose main concern will be eating, pooping, seeking comfort and learning about its surroundings. I do not want to get caught up in that pre-fabricated gender bs!
Am I the only one who's having an issue with people not respecting their choice when it comes to revealing the sex of the baby?
