HOW TO KEEP KITTY COOL?

I have a furry kitty, and he gets so hot in the summer. I have to put an ice pack on him to cool him off, as he is a long hair cat. I don't have the money to put him under and for someone to shave him, nor can I do it myself. He will barely let me touch him. But he's my baby, any tips for keeping him cool? (Note the ice pack on him😂)
