Baby Walkers?

Do you think baby walkers are good or bad? In my research I've come to the conclusion that I won't be buying one for my son. The American Academy of Pediatrics advises against them due to the fact that they can discourage babies from walking on their own. I have also read that they are not good for the development of their legs.
